Are you in the mood for a nature and gastronomy experience in the Aran Valley? Do you want to explore the forests of Montgarri in a 4×4 buggy? This is your excursion!
Choose between a 2-seater or 4-seater buggy, and we’ll teach you how to drive it. From Pla de Beret to Montgarri, you’ll enjoy 18 km of adventure through spectacular landscapes surrounded by nature.
Upon reaching Montgarri, you’ll savor the best mountain cuisine, featuring hearty “olla aranesa” stew, grilled meats, and typical products from the valley.
We depart at 1:00 PM and return around 4:00 PM. The excursion includes a stop for lunch and a chance to explore the abandoned village.

What do I need to drive a buggy?
To drive a buggy, you must be over 25 years old, have a valid category B driver’s license, and have held it for more than 2 years.

Deposit
A deposit of €300 per vehicle will be charged prior to the start of the activity. This deposit will be charged to a Visa card and will be refunded at the end of the excursion, except in the following cases:
The buggy has sustained any type of damage during the rental.
The driver has committed an infraction or conflict that may result in sanctions by the competent authorities.
In any of these cases, the deposit will be held until the total cost derived from the reason for withholding is determined. If the cost is less than the retained deposit, the remaining amount will be refunded. If the retained deposit is less than the total cost derived from the reason for withholding, the remaining amount may be claimed to cover the full cost.
Information About Your Excursion
All our excursions are guided. Your guide will provide the necessary instructions to drive your buggy and will accompany you throughout the journey. Our Can Am buggies are equipped with windshields, doors, windows, power steering, ABS, and are very easy to drive.
The Adult Menu includes:
- Starters (Montgarri pâté, appetizers, toasted bread)
- “Olla aranesa” stew
- Aged beef ribeye and duck magret
- Artisan yogurt from the Aran Valley
- Red, white, rosé wine, cava, coffee, and teas
The Kids’ Menu includes:
- Broth with pasta
- Sausage with French fries
- Dessert
- Soft drink
Can I participate in this activity?
At Montgarri Outdoor, we believe our customers are aware that they are booking an outdoor adventure activity in the mountains.
For the successful completion of our activities, Montgarri Outdoor expects customers to be informed about typical high-mountain weather conditions, which often include temperatures below zero, poor visibility, and potential risks and challenges.
For this reason, we do not recommend our excursions for babies under 3 years old, pregnant women, or individuals with back or heart problems.

What time does the activity take place?
This activity is held daily at 1:00 PM.
During holidays and peak seasons, it is recommended to allow extra time to avoid delays caused by traffic jams. If there is snow on the road, it is essential to have chains or snow tires to access the meeting point. In case of late arrival or inability to reach Pla de Beret on your own, Montgarri Outdoor will not refund the deposit.

How long does the excursion last?
The excursion lasts approximately 1.5 hours. This is in addition to the time spent on lunch. If we leave at 1:00 PM, we usually return around 4:00 PM.

You can book your excursion through this website or by calling +34 616 772 105. Spots are limited, and demand is high, especially during holidays, so booking in advance is recommended.
What will I receive when I book?
When you book and complete online payment, you will receive a ticket (or voucher) that you must present at our cabin in Pla de Beret on the day of your activity.
What should I bring on the day of my activity?
- You must present your driver’s license.
- Bring the ticket or voucher for the activity (either printed or on your phone).
- Suitable clothing for mountain or ski activities is required (anorak, waterproof pants, gloves, hat, sunglasses, etc.).
What does this activity include and exclude?
The price includes:
- Buggy excursion
- Guide in buggy or quad
- Third-party insurance, accident insurance, and liability insurance
- VAT
The price does NOT include:
- Meals and drinks at the Amics de Montgarri refuge restaurant.

CANCELLATION FEES
Bank holidays, weekends, holidays and high season:
– Less than 48 hours in advance: 100% penalty.
– 72 hours in advance: 50% penalty.
Rest of the season, from Mondays to Fridays:
– 24 hours in advance: 100% penalty.
– 48 hours in advance: 50% penalty.
– 72 hours in advance: 25% penalty.
What happens if it rains or if the weather is bad?
All activities take place as planned throughout the year, regardless of the rain or snow. If due to extreme conditions (e.g., heavy snowfall) Montgarri Outdoor has to cancel the tour, an alternative date or immediate refund will be offered.
What happens if my companion or I feel ill on the day of the activity?
If you’re ill on the day of the activity, you’ll need to present a medical note and we’ll try to rearrange your activity or proceed with the refund of your deposit. If a child is ill, the cost of the activity for them and an accompanying adult will be refunded. In the case of groups, the sick person and their companion will receive a refund, but the rest of the group will carry out the activity as arranged.

Pursuant the current data protection regulations, i.e., the GDPR and the Spanish Data Protection Act, the personal data provided by the customer will be processed by Montgarri Outdoor, S.L. in its capacity as data controller due to a legitimate interest and in order to send messages about our products and services. Said data will be retained as long as neither party objects, and it will not be transferred to third parties, except out of legal obligation. You may exercise your rights of access, rectification, data portability, erasure, restriction and objection by sending a message to aranmushing@gmail.com.
